Don't just accept your pastor's teaching. You must prove to yourself that your teachings are correct. Acts 17:11 says, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the Word with readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." If you don't understand the Word, then repent, then ask God for wisdom and the spirit of truth. Read Mark 9 regarding the deaf and dumb spirit and John 9 regarding the blind man.
From the time Jesus began to preach, and to say, "Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 4:17, Mark 1:15). This is truly the everlasting gospel and the narrow gate! This was the message that Jesus preached at first, not His future death and resurrection. John the Baptist prepared the way for the coming messiah proclaiming the same message (Matthew 3:2). True repentance is the key to manifest Jesus Christ and how to have the hope of Glory and Christ in you. "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God" (John 3:8). The Father will give you a thirst and a spirit to seek the truth in John 14:17.
